3/13/2019

This month our guest speakers: Ben Kaiser of Arbor Circle and Clay Fey of Kalamazoo County Jail, will be covering the topic of Human Trafficking.  Please join us on 3/19/2019, by registering HERE.  If you are unable to attend, but want to learn more about Human Trafficking, please see below for information related to current State actions and resources.

Human trafficking is a modern-day form of slavery and is a large and growing criminal industry worldwide.  The Michigan Attorney General is leading the fight against this horrific crime by prosecuting the state's first-ever criminal cases under state law banning human trafficking in Michigan.  Detailed information covering the Attorney General position, supporting documents, and work can be found at https://www.michigan.gov/ag/0,4534,7-359-82917_81399---,00.html.

Red Flags for First Responders and Health Care Providers covering Human Trafficking is included/attached, and also available on the Michigan link provided above.

Please note, as provided by the Attorney General:  “Human Trafficking situations can be dangerous to you if you attempt to intervene.  If you suspect Human Trafficking, call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-3737-888 or call 911.”

The Case Management Society of America (CMSA) facilitates the growth and development of professional case managers across the full health care continuum, promoting high quality, ethical practice patients and their families. We strive for improved health outcomes by providing evidence-based resources, impacting health care policy and sustaining the CMSA-developed Standards of Practice for Case Management.

To facilitate your professional growth and development we strive to bring you evidence-based, interesting educational events.
Your input and ideas are important to us.  If you have an educational topic where there is a gap in knowledge or a need for current information we want to hear about it!  We will make every effort to secure a knowledgeable speaker who utilizes research, evidence, and up to date approaches.
