Cannabis You may find the following resources and information helpful when patients inquire on the medicinal use of Cannabis, which is different than the recreational use. Dr. Daniel Clauw, Professor of Anesthesiology, Medicine (Rheumatology), and Psychiatry, Director of the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center at The University of Michigan provides information on the medicinal use, and gives some guidance on current research of pain management, where Cannabis fits into the effectiveness of treatments, and how to have a conversation with patients when they are considering Cannabis as an option for pain management. The presentation can be found on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97ff4jOMDaE. Fibromyalgia IIf you are managing individuals with this diagnosis, you may find Dr. Clauw’s YouTube video titled, “Chronic Pain – It’s All In Their Head” at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgCfkA9RLrM helpful. After viewing this video many healthcare professionals have reported this as a game changer in how they previously judged and evaluated patients with chronic pain and fibromyalgia. We appreciate the feedback on the evaluations and we hope this information addresses the comments provided.
