Nurses, case managers and social workers in rehabilitation are frequently confronted by situations where it feels like nobody wins. Pressure from payers; conflicts among team members, family members, and the patient; and difficulty assessing the patient’s decision- making capacity are top ethical concerns identified by rehab research.  Case studies will be used to highlight common issues and a template for problem solving will be introduced. Creating an ethical environment can lessen a clinician’s stress, improve satisfaction of the team and patient/family, and reduce patient and organizational risk.   During the review of 2 case studies, the Codes of Professional Conduct for CCMC’s, RN’s, and SW’s will be provided to be used in problem solving the ethical dilemmas presented.  The Codes of Professional Conduct will be used as a guide during the discussion of the 2 case studies.
